After pitching to Wadworth’s marketing team, Bearded Barrell made it to the final round of consideration and was shortlisted. 
Wadworth organized a contest aiming to create a modern and distinctive brand image for their two latest beer offerings: a Pale Ale and a Session IPA. The objective was to captivate the interest of beer enthusiasts aged 20 and above, as Wadworth believes that an innovative identity is crucial in attracting this younger demographic.

Introducting Bearded Barrell, the extraordinary beer brand that embraces and celebrates the wonderfull world of diverse beard and mustache styles. Our mission is to pay homage to the creativity and individuality that comes with facial hair, all while crafting exceptional brews for beer enthusiasts. A beard is far more than just facial hair. It is a statement, a canvas for artistic expression, and a symbol of one's unique individuality. Just as a beard represents the personal style and character of its wearer, each beer we craft becomes a form of self-expression in its own right.






The beer cans' artwork cleverly incorporates the names of each brew, such as Big Bush Pale Ale and Tangled Tash Session IPA, which amusingly reference various beard styles. This approach inspired the choice of the brewery name, Bearded Barrel. The illustrations adopt a distinct style that is visually captivating, humorous, and refreshingly unique in the realm of beer can designs. By embracing comedy, the brand effectively stands out in the market, sparking conversations among consumers.




I have used vibrant and vivid hues to captivate customers' attention and draw their gaze towards the product, incorporating two primary colors for each beer can. In addition to the illustrations, I have utilized the "brutal honesty" typeface as a backdrop, featuring the beer name in a vibrant shade to generate visual contrast. The addition of a black outline contributes to a mature and edgy aesthetic for the brand. The label also encompasses essential elements like a product description, brewery logo and ingredient list.
